The hype is true. I cook Cajun all the time and this thing is a life saver making a Roux. The cedar paddle may be retired.

I absolutely love my oxo it works very well when making my jams and sauces I don't know why I waited so long to get one it's durable and the price is reasonable.

The OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Sauce and Gravy Whisk is a total win in my kitchen. It stirs and combines ingredients really well, even in shallow pans where other whisks don’t quite reach. I like this for smaller, lighter mixes. This is too light to use in many mixes but does well in the ones it works in.

I came across one of these in Europe and for something like making gravy (that is, any roux you then blend with liquid) this is indispensable. This is an even higher quality version than the one I had used; feels great in the hand and seems quite sturdy. I don't use it every day but when a task calls for something like this, I can't imagine trying to use a regular whisk or a fork or anything else I previously would've substituted before I knew this tool existed.

At my age, I am not collecting any new kitchen, gadgets or tools. However, I’ve always had a problem with lumps in my gravy. Not anymore. This is a great whisk that delivers smooth and creamy gravy.
